Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer / Draftsman to join our engineering team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks, with strong experience in mechanical drafting, technical documentation, and engineering coordination.
The role includes producing detailed drawings, developing design documentation, supporting submittals, and assisting with QC/QA requirements for ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models for mechanical systems, equipment layouts, assemblies, and fabrication details.
Develop detailed general arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, isometrics, and exploded assembly views.
Convert engineer sketches, concepts, and specifications into complete technical drawings.
Revise and update drawings in accordance with consultant comments or design changes.
Produce accurate BOMs, material take-offs, and technical data to support procurement and fabrication.
Prepare complete material submittal packages, including datasheets, compliance statements, drawings, catalogues, and vendor documentation.
Assist in preparing QC/QA documentation, including ITPs, checklists, inspection forms, and technical reports.
Support engineering teams during design reviews, coordination meetings, and site clarifications.
Coordinate with suppliers, fabricators, and subcontractors to gather technical information for submittals.
Maintain drawing registers, revision logs, and ensure compliance with project standards and specifications.
Perform layout coordination, clash checks, and ensure technical accuracy throughout the design process.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
2–5 years of mechanical drafting/design experience, preferably within the UAE or GCC.
Expert proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D).
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, including assemblies, sheet metal, and modeling.
Strong knowledge of mechanical fabrication, equipment assemblies, and workshop practices.
Experience in preparing material submittals, technical documents, and compliance reports.
Basic understanding of QA/QC processes within engineering and construction projects.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, and vendor catalogs.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience with pump stations, piping layouts, ventilation systems, or industrial equipment is an advantage.
